Two people connected by one touch: Cihan Cakmak investigates the possibilities of human closeness than can overcome differences and conflict without dissolving them. How can we strengthen bonds and overcome experiences of loss? Changes in living environments and the existential uncertainty associated with them often accompany several generations. The photographs and video works of the artist, who was born in 1993 and lives in Leipzig, address challenges of origin and self-determination.

Afterwards you will hear a contemporary sound composition created by Cihan Cakmak in collaboration with Leipzig based sound designer Matthias Propach. It is based on the melody of a Kurdish children's song.
