The artist Britta Jansen created the work »INTER« for the Dresden Foreigners' Council (Ausländerrat Dresden e.V.). Britta was born in 1980 and hails from North Rhine-Westphalia. She found her home at various theaters and later studied costume design at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts (HfBK Dresden). For 15 years, she has worked freelance as a theater designer, art accompanist, teacher, and activist. She found her expression through self-study, freed from academic constraints. Her works are childlike and imperfect, expressing the screams of an angry, disobedient teenager and the prayers of an old soul. She witnessed the trauma of her grandparents, who survived the war. In East Germany, she experienced the trauma of the GDR dictatorship. Many travels have shaped her worldview. Community, love, and freedom are her passion.

The Dresden Foreigners' Council (Ausländerrat Dresden e.V.) has been advocating for the rights and interests of people with migration and refugee experiences in Dresden since 1990. The aim of its work is to promote social cohesion and strengthen the cultural, social, and political participation of migrants and their self-advocacy. We live in a migrant society and are constructively shaping it in the Dresden area.
